About the session
In today's turbulent scholarly publishing environment, journals or portfolios that publish more--and more high-quality--content are much more likely to succeed than those that publish less content. A clear, cohesive growth strategy is critical to attract more diverse, quality content. Bibliometrics can underpin and guide development of these strategies, but the amount and variety of available data can be overwhelming, leaving journal managers uncertain as to how to select, interpret, and integrate appropriate metrics.
During this session, KGL Consulting will introduce use cases of organizations that have harnessed bibliometric data to inform and optimize their growth strategies. Speakers will explain in practical terms how they have used different bibliometric reports to understand their journal or portfolio's market position; uncover and reach underrepresented areas and groups; and identify high-potential opportunities to improve their journal or portfolio's reach and value.
The panel will also address audience questions and share actionable, creative approaches to integrating bibliometric data into strategies to drive quantity, diversity, and quality of content.
